Spend A Lil Time started out as a loop I had forgotten about! Experimentation is a big part of music production and I was using virtual synthesizer Triton from the KORG Collection, when I discovered a preset called Chipper Dayglow. I built the beat around a chord progression. I’d been writing a song about someone not having or making time a year prior and it finally all came together on this track. As I continue making music, I’ve learned that a song written for one track or genre may work better for something else. It originally included a short rap, however I scrapped it in favor of a breakdown.
